Marta
Marta Lempart is an experienced leader in civic mobilization and national advocacy for women’s and human rights – including the rights of LGBT+ individuals and vulnerable groups – as well as for the rule of law and democracy. She is an expert in building and coordinating networks for sustainable civic engagement, known for her innovative approach to supporting individuals and collectives organizing around their own causes.

Trained as a lawyer, she has extensive experience in legislative work and within state institutions. She excels in designing and implementing programs and projects at all levels, including in complex and crisis environments.

Her greatest achievement is the founding and leadership of the Polish Women’s Strike – the first mass movement for women’s rights in Poland, which since 2016 has mobilized thousands of people in over 600 local communities, organizing more than 7,000 actions, as well as national programs and campaigns.

She is also a co-founder of the Polish Women’s Strike Foundation, which provides organizational and logistical support to the movement. Since its inception, public support for the legalization of abortion in Poland has risen from 37% to 70%, and women and young people played a key role in the electoral defeat of the government that had long attacked women’s rights.
